Art Walk 2016

A self-guided tour of 10 galleries in central Regina will take place from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturday, October 1, 2016 as part of national Culture Days.


Events at Slate Fine Art Gallery:
11 am - Kick off Art Walk with a talk by artist Catherine Blackburn who will discuss her varying art practices of beading, painting and quilling. Sponsored by Sakewewak Artists Collective. 

5 pm - Celebrate Art Walk with a wrap-up party and the preview of artist Zachari Logan's 49 Flowers (session 2) created during Performatorium, the Festival of Queer Performance in honour of the lives lost at Pulse Nightclub. Zachari also will be giving a poetry reading to commemorate those murdered in the Orlando shooting.

Art Walk Regina 2016 events will be held at Art Gallery of Regina, Assiniboia Gallery, Dunlop Art Gallery, Hague Gallery, Mata Gallery, Neutral Ground, Nouveau Gallery, Pop Up Downtown, Slate Fine Art Gallery, and Traditions Handcraft Gallery. This event celebrates all forms of visuals arts; promotes Saskatchewan artists; educates and engages the public on how art is made; inspires new and current collectors and emphasises the importance of art spaces in our community.
