SIMON HUGHES

 Simon Hughes is a visual artist based in Winnipeg. His practice includes drawing, painting, video, and public art, exploring issues related to landscape, abstraction, and architecture. He has been exhibiting in galleries, museums, and film festivals both nationally and internationally since graduating from the University of Manitoba School of Art in 1996. In 2010, he received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of California, Irvine. Simon’s paintings and works on paper are in numerous private, corporate and public collections, including the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the National Gallery of Canada and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Simon's public art projects can be found at Seven Oaks Hospital and  Windsor Park Library in Winnipeg, as well as the Kipling Rapid Transit station and Scotiabank North Tower in Toronto.
